S.S.O Brian Murray and F.F Mark Shaughnessey

Dear Fire Fighters ,

On the 26th of September two fire-fighters, SS/O Brian Murray and F/F Mark O Shaughnessey died in the line of duty while tackling a blaze at a disused factory on the Lower Dargle Road, Bray

Five years have passed since this tragic incident and we feel that it is about time that a permanent memorial is put in place to honour the two falling Fire-Fighters.

Having consulted with local authorities and town engineers we have sourced a location and appropriate monument. However, due to the current climate we will have to fundraise a percentage of the total cost to make this possible.

As you are all aware raising funds these days is not an easy task. We are calling on all fire fighters from each station around Ireland to kindly donate 10euro per person to go this well deserved monument for the two lads.

Donations can be made payable to Bray Fire Fighters Fund, Bank of Ireland, Main Street Bray Co. Wicklow. A/C no. 79600876, Sort code 90/10/35.

Or by post to Bray Fire Fighters Fund, Bray Fire Station, Schools Rd. Bray Co. Wicklow.
