Senior Industrial Relations Executive.
Industrial Relations Officer.
Industrial Relations Officer (IFESA)
The PNA represents nurses in Psychiatry, Intellectual Disability and other specialist areas. I.F.E.S.A., the union's Fire Fighters section represents growing numbers of Fire Fighters while N.A.S.R.A. represents an increasing number of ambulance paramedics.
The PNA is an independent, dynamic trade union committed to representing its members in relation to terms and conditions of employment, grievance and disciplinary issues, establishment of rights and entitlements, health and safety, professional development etc. Due to the anticipated retirement of senior personnel over the next few years the union is now succession planning and would like to identify high quality candidates to lead the union forward.
This post would suit an ambitious, knowledgeable, energetic and experienced trade union activist with good organisational and communication skills. The successful candidate will be capable of supporting and leading professional practitioners, will be competent in developing and presenting cases at industrial tribunals and in representing the union's policies to Government Departments and other organs of the State.
Interested candidates are invited to meet the General Secretary to discuss all aspects of the role.
In a continuing development of services to members the union is proposing to appoint an I.R.O. to represent nurses. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of duties including recruitment, support of branch officers, processing of cases on behalf of individual members at grievance and disciplinary hearings etc. The successful candidate will be committed, dynamic and energetic and as part of the unions professional staff will contribute to its future development. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a reasonable knowledge of industrial relations, good analytical skills and excellent communication skills written and verbal. A nursing qualification will be an advantage but is not essential.
The union's fire fighter section is in its infancy. However, such is the growth in membership that a specialist I.R.O. with significant knowledge of fire fighting is now required to drive the organisation forward. The successful candidate will have good communication and organisational skills with a good knowledge of industrial relations and the ability to represent the interests of fire fighters in discussions with Government and employers and in presentations to third parties. Fire service experience is essential.
Applications with C.V's to reach Des Kavanagh, General Secretary, PNA, Station House, The Waterways, Sallins, Co. Kildare before April 27 th 2012.
